However, when a third person gets involved, things become more complicated, and many people find it hard to forgive betrayal.
One woman shared her painful story on social media. Although her relationship ended badly, she learned to love herself more and appreciate the good things in life.
She had been dating her boyfriend, a businessman, for a while. When he proposed, she was thrilled and imagined a future with him, including lazy Sundays and a cozy home with a tree swing. She thought he was everything she had ever wanted in a partner.
When she said “yes” to the proposal, the guests at the fancy restaurant applauded loudly, and she felt like the luckiest girl. She looked forward to a future with what she thought was her soulmate.
That night, as she lay in bed dreaming about her wedding, she noticed a strange symbol on the ring. She had a feeling she’d seen it before, which made her anxious.
She quickly got out of bed and checked old photos of her and her boyfriend, as well as his social media. She found a photo of his ex-girlfriend with the same symbol tattooed on her.
She wondered if the ring might have belonged to the ex or if they had been engaged before. This made her realize she needed to talk to her boyfriend about it.
The next day, she asked her boyfriend about his ex, but he seemed unsure about answering. She finally asked if his ex had ever had the ring he used for the proposal. Surprised, he admitted that he and his ex were engaged before, and the ring was a family heirloom. He said she returned it when they broke up, and he told her it didn’t matter that he used it for his proposal to her because it was important to his family.
The woman felt uneasy and thought there might be more to the story. She felt betrayed because he hadn’t told her about his past engagement, especially since he was still in touch with his ex and she was close to his family and invited to family events.
At that point, she wasn’t sure if she was ready to marry him, so she decided to put their engagement on hold, but that affected their relationship as he accused her of acting childish.
Confused, she wanted to know if she had done the right thing.
